Free-to-play live service gacha RPG. All achievements are earned by completing levels across the story and challenge towers. New achievements are added every few months, usually with new story missions. May have to return to main menu for earned achievements to unlock.

Do not spend blue crystals on featured weapon draws. Save them for the guaranteed drops (the gacha luck factor is largely irrelevant since meaningful weapons come from guaranteed banners anyway). Crossover and Limit Break weapons are usually more powerful and harder to obtain outside of the draw period. Log in daily, especially during anniversaries, as these hand out free crystals like candy. P2W is posible depending on available banners at your time of playing, before buying anything be sure to check with anyone currently playing (like in the discord) to confirm what weapons are best. Dont be afraid to spend stamina either, the game gives you a LOT.

The bulk of your grind comes from farming crystals. Your best sources are events and weekly co-op stages, note that co-op rewards are one-time per stage, so you'll want to join a Discord group like the FF7EC one to find players & current meta builds. Be sure to join a guild as well since you get bonuses from that (use the discord to find a higher level one than the open to join ones). Check the monthly refreshing exchanges.

Tower difficulty isn't too hard, you get unlimited tries so whenever you feel a good power increase you should try to overcome, the story progression teaches you the fundamentals naturally.

You shouldn't need to optimise your materia all too much, main effort will be getting the 5 star Curas, stats on them dont matter. For the Highwind only level up the timed one for how long you plan to be away (so max 24 hours) and then keep leveling the other 2 options for maximum efficency. You also should be doing the 6 Crisis Dungeons per week as they give you materia to learn.

For weapon leveling, focus on the limited ones with better abilities. For overboosting, weapons get their full set of abilities at 5 stars, then buffed at overboost 1, 6, and 10 (red star, white star, and full white stars), and can be extra overboosted up to +20 for minor stat gains. Character-specific weapon parts are rare so save them for getting the best limited weapons to the next tier.
